During our visit, we will start I Am Second groups by partnering with local believers to reach their friends, neighbors and family
members. We will include sports, children’s ministry and various other outreach methods as well as do humanitarian projects like eye clinics, etc. We will work with several VRBC mission partners.

Funding for Mission Trips - Please Note Changes
A limited amount of financial assistance is available to assist VRBC members with up to one-half the cost ($1000 maximum) of going on a short term mission trip. In order to be good stewards of this incredible resource, financial assistance will be distributed evenly throughout the year to those with financial need with priority for those who have never before been on a mission trip. In addition to any financial assistance for mission trips given through the church budget, we encourage mission trip participants to do some fundraising if they are not able to fund their trip on their own. You are welcome to send letters requesting prayer and financial support to your close family and friends within the church; perhaps this is your Adult Bible Fellowship or your Small Group or some other close associations. We recognize that people want to fund great causes and likely receive more requests than they can financially support. To allow them to prayerfully seek what projects to support and to alleviate any awkwardness between you and the individual, we encourage you to have potential donors send their designated gift through the church rather than directly to you. Be sure to have them write your trip and name in the memo line. To thank these donors, you may either write thank you notes that the church can distribute to donors, or you may want to use your fundraising letter to invite all prayer and financial supporters to a celebration or reception after your trip, where you thank them for their support, show pictures or video from your trip, and share stories of ways God has worked in you and through you on this trip. You may wish to use this sample fundraising letter and tailor it to your specific trip.
